From the TransportationMATTERS Invitation Letter:

The hard work of the 21st Century Transportation PrioritiesTask Force, the exciting appointment of new ODOT Director Molitoris and testimony on the 2010-2011 ODOT Budget are just the first steps of a lot of work ahead. Advocating for improved transportation and increased funding in Ohio will take loud, mobilized voices. You may already be involved in an advocacy group that is working hard to improve one transportation mode or another. But as you well know, the more voices mobilized on this issue, the more effective we will be. Transportation continues to be relatively low on a long list of public policy priorities in Ohio - even though it is one of the key catalysts for new jobs, development and quality of life. This needs to change. To that end, a new statewide coalition has formed, "TransportationMATTERS", to serve as a "coalition of coalitions" that will mobilize ALL transportation constituencies (and other interests) to help educate our leaders on why Transportation MATTERS!

TransportationMATTERS will not replace organizations like All Aboard, Consider Biking, BikeOhio, Ohio Public Transit Association, the Ohio Contractors Association or Ohio Aviation Association. Each will continue to advocate for its own platform as they see fit. But TM is designed to bring all of these groups and individual interests together, for the first time in Ohio's history, to make the case to our leaders that transportation is the foundation of a strong economy and a better quality of life.

We will be hosting these forums throughout the state in the next several months. We've purposely kept the dues low so that individuals and non-profits can afford to join this statewide and multi-modal coalition. Membership Application

Please consider joining us and attending an upcoming forum in your region. By participating, you'll get access to key transportation leaders, timely information on transportation developments and legislative initiatives as well as insight on policy development.
