This year the feature
speaker at the Annual Patterson Lecture hosted by the NU Transportation
Center will be Governor Scott McCallum, President and CEO of Aidmatrix
Foundation.
The lecture will be held on Wed. April 22, 2009 at 7:30 pm (Location: James
L. Allen Center - Tribune Auditorium 2169 Campus Drive, Evanston, IL). The
lecture is free and open to the public.
Governor Scott McCallum heads up the leading global nonprofit organization utilizing advanced supplychain technologies to distribute humanitarian relief aid. By combining proven supply chain management and internet technology with collaborative partnerships from the business and nonprofit sectors, Aidmatrix creates efficiencies connecting donors and those in need. As CEO, McCallum has grown the Aidmatrix Foundation to annually transact $1.5 billion of product serving 35,000 organizations throughout the world.
Governor McCallum's leadership at Aidmatrix earned industry respect with the 21st Century Achievement Award for "visionary use of technology to promote positive social economic and educational change" and he was highlighted as a "true hero of the information age" by ComputerWorld.
Governor Scott McCallum has more than 30 years experience as a leader in government, private sector, and non profit work. Elected as one of the youngest State Senators in Wisconsin history, he was re-elected twice, then elected to four terms as Lt. Governor. As Governor of Wisconsin, McCallum was cited by the Wall Street Journal during the economic slowdown in 2001 as being one of the "political tough guys" for balancing the budget without raising taxes.
The Annual Patterson Lecture is named for William A. "Pat" Patterson, former president and CEO of United Airlines, lifetime trustee of Northwestern University, and co-founder of the Transportation Center. For 25 years, the annual Patterson Lecture has been a high point in the year of the Transportation Center. The series has featured speakers from Alfred Kahn to Herb Kelleher.
